In July 2025, Islesboro Health Center's new facility opened its doors to patients, replacing the space in Islesboro Town Hall that we had outgrown. Our new space reflects a widespread modernization in facilities, equipment and services to support a healthy Islesboro for the coming decades.
Bright, spacious waiting area with new tables and seating
Modernized information technology infrastructure to support use of state-of-the-art electronic health record systems.
Updated security technology to protect patient privacy and to safeguard against vandalism and theft.
Expanded examination room space with four dedicated exam rooms to improve workflow for office visits.
Dedicated treatment area for medical emergencies
Dedicated, private areas for collection of blood and urine samples
Improved ambulance access for emergencies, including a covered ambulance entrance with protection against rain and snow.
Expanded storage space to improve clinic inventory management
Modernized overnight staff accommodations to help attract and retain qualified medical provider coverage.
Modernized diagnostic and emergency equipment including:
Lifepak 35 monitor/defibrillator with capabilities to monitor heart rhythm, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, blood carbon monoxide levels and exhaled carbon dioxide levels in adults and children.
Midmark EN200 otoscope and ophthalmoscope system in each treatment room
Phillips Lumify portable ultrasound system
Sapphire IV infusion pumps
WelchAllyn CP150 electrocardiogram and spirometry machine
WelchAllyn ProBP 3400 series blood pressure monitors validated and compliant with 2025 AHA/ACC Guideline for the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults.
Expanded and modernized laboratory equipment including
Abbott Piccolo Xpress blood chemistry analyzer
